If you’re spending February 14th solo, consider these “Valentine’s at Home” ideas!

Maybe this is your first Valentine’s Day without a significant other. Perhaps you’re not in a relationship, but want some fun ways to spend the holiday.

Of if you’re an introvert like me, celebrating Valentine’s Day at home sounds like music to your ears 😌.

Whatever the reason is, it’s easy to feel like you’re the odd one out when seemingly everyone else in the world is celebrating love.

But trust me, this happens more than you think.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying your own company on Valentine’s Day, so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

1. Do Something Fun

When was the last time you had fun?

Is there a painting that you’ve been wanting to recreate? An arts and craft project you’ve been putting off? Well, now is a great time to do it!

Get in touch with your inner child and do something that you haven’t done since you were a kid. This is a perfect way to shake off any Valentine’s Day blues you may be experiencing.

If you’re looking for a fun project, I recommend trying my rose water recipe! If you already have roses around your house, even better–you don’t have to go out and buy any!

2. Write Yourself a Love Letter

I promise this isn’t as cheesy as it sounds.

People always talk about wanting their significant other to write them a love letter, but you can also write one to yourself!

What do you love about yourself?

Do you have any characteristics that you’re proud of?

Are there any self-love reminders you want to write to your future self?

Writing a love letter to yourself is a great way to practice self-care on Valentine’s Day, and more people should do it.

Kris Jenner meme saying, "I love myself."

It’s an excellent confidence booster and will have such a positive impact on your mood. This will also do wonders for your mental health!

If you’re stuck or aren’t sure how to get started with this, try writing positive self-love affirmations about yourself.

Check out this post for some affirming phrases you can use in your love letter!

3. Do a Wine Tasting in Your Kitchen

Who doesn’t love a glass of sweet red wine? You don’t have to go to a wine tasting event because you can do it from the comfort of your kitchen!

First, you’ll need to make a list of the wines you want to try. Are you partial to white wines over red wines? Are there any brands that have sparked your interest?

After you have your list, do a quick grocery pickup (or get them delivered if you’re lazy like me). You can even opt to buy some cute wine glasses for a little razzle dazzle.

Once Valentine’s Day arrives, you’re now ready for your at-home wine tasting!

I recommend doing your wine tasting with a delicious dinner, and right after a long, relaxing bath or shower.

Take a look below at some great wine glasses from Amazon!

4. Have a Galentine’s Night

There’s nothing quite like spending quality time with the gals. Whether you and your best girlfriends decide to meet virtually or they come over to your place, you can expect a good time.

Life can get pretty busy, and having a Galentine’s Night is a great time to catch up on things.

There are so many things you and your friends could do–like playing your favorite board games and making cute little appetizers.

Or what about trying a new TikTok recipe (there are hundreds to choose from)?

Another excellent option is to just spend time together talking.

No phones, no TVs, no social media–just uninterrupted conversations in your living room about anything and everything.

Now, when was the last time you did that!?

Call up your gals today and set something up for this Valentine’s Day!

5. Have a Relaxing Spa Day

I’m a huge advocate of all things self-love, and nothing says, “I love you” like an at-home spa day!

Just imagine a pampering night filled with hydrating face masks and body creams.

Give your mind and body the quality time they deserve this Valentine’s and witness how amazing you’ll feel afterwards.

Light a candle, take a long, relaxing bubble bath (add some rose petals if you’re feeling fancy), and relax.

Need some last-minute spa products? Try these for yourself!

6. Buy Yourself Something Nice

Celebrate this holiday in the best way by getting yourself something nice. And what better way to treat yourself than with a gift?

Think of it this way–if you were celebrating Valentine’s Day with someone, you would have gotten some type of gift, anyway!

Is there something that’s been on your wishlist for a while but you keep putting it off? Maybe some new luggage? A cute gold necklace you’ve been eyeing?

Whatever it may be, show yourself some love this holiday and consider buying it! Because you deserve it.

7. Watch Your Favorite Movie

Grab your popcorn and fuzzy socks; it’s movie time!

Now, this may just be the college film student in me, but almost nothing compares to a good movie night at home.

For up to two hours, you’re transported to a different dimension, experiencing all the plot twists alongside the main character.

And what’s great about this is you don’t have to put up with annoying people at the movie theater who talk throughout the entire thing!

So, gather up your favorite romantic movies (or sci-fi’s and thrillers), a warm blanket, and head to your couch for a front-row seat!

What movie will you be watching this Valentine’s Day?

8. Cozy Up with a Good Book

I know that books and Valentine’s Day are an unlikely pair, but I promise you’ll love this idea!

Cozying up with a good book is one of the most relaxing things you can do this holiday. If you’re someone who wants more time to read, but never actually makes time to do it, now’s your chance!

Head over to your local library or bookstore and peruse your favorite section.

What was your favorite book to read as a kid? Is there a best seller you’ve been wanting to get your hands on?

Ask Alexa to play some relaxing thunder sounds (what I’m listening to as I write this blog) and zone out with a book.

These are some good books I recommend:

Reclaimed by Sarah Guillory
Little tidbit - this was written by my 10th grade English teacher : ) There's a big plot twist!
The Davinci Code by Dan Brown
I first read this book in 2008, and have read it many more times since then. Absolutely amazing.
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
My very first favorite book as a kid! It's tattered and worn now, but I still have it : )
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
If you haven't read The Hunger Games Trilogy, you're missing out! I read these in that same 10th grade English class.

Like having a candle while you read? Here’s one of my faves:

9. Cook a Fancy Dinner

We all have a favorite restaurant, but sometimes we just don’t want to drag ourselves out of the house to go.

So with that in mind, ditch the restaurant this year and opt to cook at home this Valentine’s Day!

Brined holiday ham with all the fixings

It could be something as simple as making chocolate-dipped strawberries, or something as intricate as whipping out your fondue pot and making an immaculate cheese dip.

I suggest hopping on Pinterest and perusing all the enticing recipes until you find one that looks good to you.

An at-home dinner is the perfect way to end your Valentine’s Day, so don your apron and roll your sleeves up!

These “Valentine’s at Home” ideas will help you feel like your best self.

Let this list serve as a constant reminder that you can confidently celebrate this holiday from home and have a wonderful time doing it!

I hope you have a fun time this Valentine’s Day!

Peace, love, and good vibrations.
